Happy Halloween-Promo Images for 13th Floor

I got the opportunity to shoot some promo images for Chris Stafford, owner of the 13th Floor haunted house here in Denver… 303 Magazine had originally assigned me to shoot a portrait of Chris for the October issue and he wanted me to come back and shoot for him… It was fun to see the haunted house the the lights on, and see what goes on behind the scenes… Check out some photos… These first couple are of people being scared which is something that he wanted to get out of this shoot…

If you look closely the photo of Justin is credited to Sara Ford, however I definitely remember shooting this…

Site Adjustment

I recently made a few adjustments to this site… It seems like an ongoing project that will probably never stop, maybe someday it’ll be just the way I think I want it… I suppose it’s a good thing that I’m never quite satisfied with it… I added a section that’s never been on any incarnation of this site since it’s inception in 2004, compositions. It is a group of images that I’m excited about… They are kinda hard to describe, but I suppose they are minimal, graphic compositions, mostly urban landscape or outdoor still life… Make sense? Well, I named the category, compositions, because I couldn’t think of a better name and that is what I like about them and what drives me to create them. It’s what makes them appealing to the eye and one of the things that I try and make strong in all my photographs. So check out the compositions section and let me know what you think… Check out one of the latest -

October Editorial Images for 303 Magazine

I’m excited to have a few images in the October issue of 303 Magazine… First off is Chris Stafford of Getscared.com , he is the co-owner of four Denver haunted houses… I photographed him at the 13Floor haunted house at 4120 Brighton Blvd. in Denver… I just went through the 13floor on saturday night and it is really fun, go with a group and have fun getting scared together! Anyway, here’s the tearsheet from the magazine, and a few more that I liked…

Next is a photo to help illustrate a short story by David Namerow, entitled, Yin and Yank…

August 303 Magazine Cover!

So one of my images is on the cover of the August issue of 303 Magazine! I also shot my first fashion spread for 303 in this issue as well, and a couple other images to boot… Thanks to Ron Lopez, Jason Patz, Tracy Bozarth, and Austin Braun for a great shoot! We shot the cover image while working on the fashion spread, so check it out… And check out the mag online or in print to see the spread! (seriously, go check out the magazine if you never have, it’s really well done!)

New music photography – Nautical Mile live

Local Denver/Boulder band Nautical Mile had a cd release show at the Fox in Boulder and asked me to come along and document the festivities… I hadn’t shot live music for a while so I definitely had to jump at the opportunity… We also had some time to shoot a bunch of more posed portraits of them as well… This is the second time I’ve shot Nautical Mile and a big thanks to them for choosing me again! Had the opportunity to shoot a couple of headshots recently here in Denver… I really enjoy shooting headshots, it may sound cliche but the best part is meeting really interesting people… Sometimes it reminds me of the movie Fight Club where Ed Norton and Brad Pitt’s characters meet for the first time on the airplane and he calls the people that he meets on flights, “single serving friends.” I have a lot of single serving friends and look forward to having many more.
